They get an 11/10 from me. Food is flavorful and extremely delicious. Seasoning, taste, etc. is completely spot on and accurate. Even their chips and salsa are to die for. They really know how to cook amazing and authentic Mexican food. You feel like you're back in your grandma's kitchen whenever you eat here. I can't recommend this restaurant enough! Every dish I have tried so far has been extremely delicious and tasty. I really love their buffet and I especially love their famous molcajetes. Plentiful amounts of food and reasonable prices too. The staff is kind, courteous, and very attentive. They regularly check up on your table to make sure you have everything you need. Awesome food, awesome staff, and amazing place. This is definitely one of my go to favorite restaurants of all time.

Holy Moly! So glad we were finally able to come here for a meal! We discovered Fonda Don Chon when we attended the Taste of Covina a while back (special thanks to Yelp!) and had said to ourselves that we had to come back and check them out. This place is amazing!! It's in a small strip mall that seemed trapped in time, but this restaurant was the one lively spot in an otherwise sleepy area. It was busy, bustling and had a joyful vibe, because everyone in there seemed to be enjoying themselves! Everyone seemed to be regulars as well, everyone knew the staff. The menu is huge, and everything looked delicious. Our server was also clearly a long-term employee. He knew what he was doing, and knew the menu. We ordered the Enchilada de Mole and the Filete Zarandeado, and I don't know if my pics can do justice. I'll admit that I'm not always a fan of Mexican restaurants vs street vendors or taco trucks. They are often not authentic. But THIS ONE is as authentic as it gets, and delicious! Definitely returning when I can get out there, and two thumbs up to them for their passion for the food and the people!! :)

Authentic cooking happening here! There's usually a waiting line, but worth it. If the buffet is open when you're there, it's the best value. You can try different dishes for one low price of $17.99. Served from 9AM-2PM, seven days a week. When a restaurant makes tortillas on the premises, you know this is a level up from the average Mexican restaurant. The corn tortillas were very good, I've had homemade before and these are one of the best. Make sure you order some with your meal. The menu is extensive, I'll will list the most popular items: Tacos, Burritos, Tortas, Taquitos, Cevich, Enchiladas (beef, chicken, veggie/spinach with cheese). There is a Sampler (Chimichanga, Quesadilla, Chicken Tenders, and Chili Tortios). They have Molcajete (good for two people) filled with with an array of meats, roasted chilies and veggies in a savory red salsa. This comes with a side of rice, beans, and tortillas to make your own tacos. Note: A kids menu ($10) is also available. so bring the whole family and don't forget to tell 'em that Rosemary sent ya!
